Don't Leaf Us Out

Over the last six months the YouBelong community have been creating leaves in different ways for our "Don't leaf us out" project.

Emma gathered up all the images of these leaves and created this first tree. When the tree was shared with the community earlier this month they loved it so much that we decided to keep creating until we have a forest of trees.

This project has a life ahead of itself, highlighting the fact that many disabled and chronically ill people are left behind by churches and Christian communities. Watch this space to see what happens next.

But first....

This week Emma was thinking about the project and this "Don't leaf us out" sonnet developed about the importance of community and YouBelong itself.

In whispered rustles, leaves embrace the air,

A tapestry of crimson, gold, and green;

Each shape a story told, layer by layer,

Changes seen in autumn’s gilded sheen.

Within this rainbow cover we are found,

Everyone fed by roots that draw us near.

We meet and live, with God on holy ground,

None left out, we gather without fear.

From budding green to winter’s silent cries,

The years spin, a vibrant symphony;

Emerald whispers merge with fiery sighs,

A testament to time and unity.

In every shade and form we find our place,

Connected each to all; together whole.
